Quality Engineer

Visiontech Solutions Group (VSG) Corporate Headquarters is searching for a full time Electro-Mechanical Quality Engineer to provide ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Continuous Improvement Measures, Metrics, and product verification.

From prototype to new product introduction, supply chain solutions to lifecycle management, VSG works closely with their customers to provide world-class custom solutions for their individual needs.

VSG is conveniently located between Charlottesville and Richmond near Zion Crossroads.

Responsibilities:

  • Support design tasks including requirements analysis, specification validation, interface definitions, and component verification with Supplier support personnel.

  • Participate in product inspection against customer defined requirements.

  • Identify and work with suppliers of components and subsystems for process improvements.

  • Perform analysis of supplier products and apply lessons learned to innovative product design improvements & best practices.

  • Support and conduct customer and ISO internal audits.

  • Lead and implement Continuous Improvements to the existing QMS processes.

  • Communicate information in a way that demonstrates a basic understanding of supply chain work, the specific scope and nature of project, and VSG’s culture, values, and practices.

Qualifications Required:

  • BSME or 5 years equivalent related work experience.

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma DFM, CPk, PFMEA, FAI, PPAP, & Manufacturing Control Plan analysis tools.

  • Knowledge of MCAD tools to analyze solid models of assemblies, subassemblies, and components.

  • 2 years minimum mechanical design, fabrication, and test experience with sheet metal, castings, aluminum extrusions, anodizing specifications, and injection molded plastics.

  • Support continual improvement and quality control efforts to ensure that supply chain improvements are sustainable and integrate best practices and lessons learned.

  • Extremely high attention to detail and problem solving skills essential.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills essential.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly master new tasks.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and provide leadership on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.

  • Prior experience and knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015 standard requirements..

  • Demonstrated independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity. 

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English required.

 

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Quality Engineering Management experience is a strong plus.

  • CQE/OE/CQI/CSQP certification a strong plus.

  • Previous experience evaluating various products rapidly in a team environment is a strong plus.

  • Qualtrax data repository experience a plus.

  • Experience with SolidWorks MCAD is a plus.

  • An active US government security clearance is a plus.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher certifcation) is a plus.
